The 2008 Season of the Northeast Church Project is scheduled for 29 June - 24 July 2008. In 2008 the team will continue work on conserving the church complex and its mosaics. In addition the project will dig a number of deep probes to explore for structure under the church that might have been part of a Roman temple complex. The excavation project is rigorous, requiring that volunteers be in excellent health and able to do heavy work. Registration deadline 1 April 2008. The links at the left provide more information. This year's dig features two optional trips. After the first week, team members are invited to join Dr. Schuler for a tour of Jerusalem and Bethlehem. After the second week, Dr. Schuler leads a three-day tour of Jordan, including Jerash, Mt. Nebo, Petra, Amman and Gadara. The official travel agent for the Concordia team is Minnetonka Travel. Students and new volunteers must make their travel bookings with Concordia's agent. Are you curious about digging?
